Short but sweet

If you didn’t see Thor: Ragnarok in the cinema in the Netherlands, you probably missed out on a sweet little extra that was only shown there. Kort maar Krachtig (Short but Sweet) is a high octane take on all the cliché and tropes of the fantasy adventure genre, with a sword in a stone, a wizard, dragons and sword fights. A young hero needs to liberate the princess from an evil lord, but he only has two minutes because “it’s only a very short movie” and people are waiting for the main feature.

The film was directed by Junaid Chundrigar (Twitter) and produced by Dutch animation house, KLOMP! Animation, and has now been released in all its glory on Vimeo. As the short rushes past at a dizzying speed, in very current, sugar rush style reminiscent of Adventure Time and Gravity Falls, you’ll need to watch it a few times to get all the in-jokes and references. But hey, isn’t that what the Internet is for?
