The Magnificent Megazine – Issue 393 Previewed
Ok, is it really a preview if the issue’s out already? But what the hey… here’s Megazine Issue 393…
Ooooh, nice seeing Lawless in colour there. Phil Winslade’s beautiful black and white artwork continues inside. All very nice. In fact, it’s a particularly good time for both the Megazine and 2000AD right now. It all kicks off with the ape antics of Judge Heston helping out Dredd in Krong Island by Arthur Wyatt and Jake Lynch.
The continuing adventures of Marshall Metta Lawson really are wondrously splendid, as detailed by the talents of Dan Abnett and Phil Winslade. Munce Inc. have always been against the Marshall, but trying to wipe the town of Badrock off the map could well be classed as an over-reaction.
Rory McConville took a big step into the shoes of John Smith when he became the first writer of Devlin Waugh post-Smith, but alongside Mike Dowling, he’s living up to all that’s gone before with the campest of vampire exorcist investigators.
Always great to see Carlos Ezquerra’s art in the pages of the Meg, this time accompanying Rory McConville with the rough edged Cursed Earth Koburn in The Law Of The Cursed Earth.
And rounding out the issue, there’s what might well be the final adventure detailing the world of the movie Dredd. Writers Alex De Campi and Arthur Wyatt have a particularly deadly time playing in the Dredd movie world, and we’re slowly seeing the introduction of some particularly nassssssty villains. End of the world time? Could be. But with Henry Flint in charge of the art, it’s sure to be a great looking Dredd apocalypse courtesy of the Dark Judges.
Ok… art time…
