Loving Vincent hits the screens

About a year and a half ago, we wrote about the amazing Loving Vincent project, an animated film aimed at celebrating the life and work of Vincent van Gogh. The wonderful aspect of the film is that each frame has been lovingly created in oil paint by trained fine artists, bringing to life Van Gogh’s world but especially his own masterworks.

After six years of development, and 65,000 individual paintings from 125 artists, the film is finally ready for release. The theatrical trailer promises not just a technological and artistic feat, but above all a warm and empathic evocation of Van Gogh’s troubled personality, which was so tightly intertwined with his artistic genius.
