Comics: Pat Mills signing in FP Edinburgh!

As we’ve already mentioned our chums at the Edinburgh International Film Festival are screening the acclaimed 2000 AD documentary Future Shock at the festival this month. The film fest often features “extras” such as Q&As and panel discussions as well as the actual screenings, and I am delighted to say one of the godfathers of Brit comics, Pat Mills will be at the festival, talking with the rather excellent Emma Beeby, so there’s even more reason to make sure you’re going along. I’m even more delighted to announce that Pat has very kindly made time during his trip to the festival to do a signing in our Edinburgh store on Southbridge on Monday 22nd of June from 5pm (keep up with the latest from the Edinburgh store via their Facebook and their Twitter).

Pat has not only created some of the most memorable comics characters in Brit comics history, from the simply superb Charlie’s War to the brain-melting Nemesis and the adventures of Slaine, he’s also been one of the architects of the actual comics themselves, being responsible for the shape of hugely influential publications, not least our much beloved 2000 AD. I’ve heard Pat speak at the Edinburgh Book Festival and highly recommend you take this opportunity both to meet one of the great Brit comics creators and to support the Indy film crew behind Future Shock at the Festival.
