Abita is a beautifully, delicately drawn short animated film from Shoko Hara and Paul Brenner, dealing with a child in the Fukushima region, unable to play outside because of the radioactive damage she takes refuge in her imagination and in drawing, but the enchanting freedom of a small child’s imagination and the delicate artwork contrasts harshly with the grim reality of the human damage to the environment…
