Film: Gothic season at the BFI

Our friends at the BFI have let us know about a season of films coming up at the BFI Southbank (and also, we’re told, across the country) which sounds just the thing for many of our readers – Gothic: the Dark Heart of Film. There will be freshly restored archive screenings, DVD launches, new publications, talks and more as part of the series running from October to January, so bookmark the page to learn more in coming weeks. The Gothic season is going to be preceded by a rather tasty aperitif: the Monster Weekend of outdoor British classic horror screenings at the British Museum in London over the weekend of 29th, 30th and 31st of August, just the thing to get you in the mood. Time to dig out those satin-lined evening capes, top hats and silver-topped canes…
