David Campbell kindly drops us a line to let us know some of the details of the excellent 2D Northern Ireland Comics Festival’s next bash, which is due to take place from the 30th of May to the 2nd of June, 2013. David tells us that a new website is coming soon, but meantime he can tell us that the comic fair will now run for the full weekend of the 1st and 2nd of June in a new venue in the festival’s home city of Derry and the 2013 gig will be part of the city’s role as UK City of Culture and the wider programme of cultural events going on as part of that (nice to see the Irish comics culture being a big part of that!). The educational side of things will again largely take place in the Verbal Arts Centre, the evening sessions will be in Sandino’s Bar and the fair this time should be in the Millennium Forum. ¬†Guests so far confirmed include Colin MacNeil, David Hine, Dean Ormston, Glenn Fabry, Jock, Declan Shalvey, Andy Diggle, Rob Davis, Robbie Morrison, Roger Langridge, Simon Furman, Warwick Johnson Cadwell and the legendary Mick McMahon among others – and even better new, 2D will again be a free event! Expect more further down the line, meantime until the new site is completed you can keep up with news via the 2D Twitter stream.
