FINALLY – Flex Mentallo coming late 2011

Published On January 4, 2011 | By Richard Bruton | Comics, Lost Works

At last – DC/Vertigo have announced they plan to release Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely’s brilliant Flex Mentallo in a deluxe hardcover in “Fall 2011”.

The problems for the series – unavailable since the 4 issue comic series in ’96 – was the slight, teensie-weensie, similarity between Flex Mentallo (“hero of the beach”) and a certain Charles Atlas. Or at least the Charles Atlas company seemed to think so – and although DC won the court action, they shied away from republishing Flex Mentallo. Until now.

That’s one of the big three uncollecteds down. Now it’s just Marvelman / Miracleman and Zenith to sort out. Fingers crossed.
