Art Spiegelman lecture

Published On November 10, 2011 | By Joe Gordon | Comics, Competitions

SHU ComicsAnimation has uploaded a good, long video featuring Art Spiegelman giving a lecture – it features discussion about Maus, the Holocaust in the media and the craft of creating comics, although it is over two hours in running time, so you may want to bookmark for when you have enough time to sit through it all. The picture quality isn’t the best, but you can hear Art fine, so check it out (thanks to Bryan Talbot for the link).

And don’t forget you still have a few days remaining to try and win yourself a matched set of Art’s recently published MetaMaus, a fascinating work looking into the creation of the Pulitzer winning comic, and the new 25th anniversary hardback edition of the Complete Maus from Penguin. Just drop me a line – joe (dot) gordon (a) forbiddenplanet (dot) co (dot) uk – telling me the name of Art’s father whose memories most of Maus is built on before Monday 14th November to be in with a chance of winning a set of both handsome books.
