Mark Millar at the Edinburgh Book Festival

Top Scottish comics (and now movie) scribe Mark Millar made his first ever appearance at the Edinburgh International Book Festival in August and he seemed to enjoy the experience as much as the audience did (you can read my report here). Mark was on fine form talking with Scotland on Sunday’s Stuart Kelly (who’s also a huge comics fan) about his early career, 2000 AD, his gratitude to Warren Ellis for helping him land the run on the Authority which helped establish him with US readers (hard to think now with Mark’s huge standing with comics publishers and readers, but like everyone else he had to start somewhere and build that reputation with a lot of work over the years), working with film-makers on Wanted and especially Kick-Ass and more.

Mark Millar Edinburgh INternational Book Festival recording

FPI would like to thank Mark and Stuart for kindly agreeing to let us share this recording and of course special thanks to the nice folks at the Edinburgh Book Festival for generously letting us borrow their recording; enjoy!

(you can also listen to a recording from the Book Festival of Ian Rankin, Denise Mina and Neil Gaiman discussing prose and comics writing here on the blog)

any chance you guys would make the file downloadable?

  2. Joe says:

Sorry, Ramon, its not our file to make downloadable, its a recording made by the Book Festival that they (and Mark and Staurt) have been kind enough to let us air to a wider audience.
