Ralph Steadman on sea shanties

Published On July 28, 2008 | By Joe Gordon | Animation, Comics, Conventions and events, Film TV & Theatre

Ralph Steadman, surely one of the best British illustrators of the last few decades, will be a guest on BBC 6 Music this afternoon on the Pete Mitchell show which runs from 1pm to 4pm (sorry, don’t know at what point during that Ralph will be on). Ralph is appearing just ahead of the opening of the Rogue’s Gallery event at London’s Barbican this evening, which is, believe it or not, a collection of pirate songs and old sea shanties (excuse my editorial ‘yarrrr!’), which Raplh is involved in (and which also includes the likes of Suzanne Vega, Pete Doherty and more). You can check the show or listen again via the BBC’s 6 Music site (don’t be confused with Nemone’s name at the top, Pete Mitchell is filling in for her this week) and the Barbican’ site has details of the Rogue’s Gallery gig.
