Next Door Neighbor

SmithMag, the site which has already given us some excellent online graphic novels in the form of Josh Neufeld’s A.D. : New Orleans After the Deluge and Anthony Lappé and Dan Goldman’s Shooting War, has more comics delights awaiting us with Next Door Neighbor (before anyone tells me I’ve mis-spelled it, its the American spelling of ‘neighbor’), which annoyingly I missed noticing when it launched recently, but that just means I have several strips on there already waiting to be read. From Dean Haspiel’s introduction on the site:

For better, and more often for worse, we all live next to someone. And we all have a Next-Door Neighbor story. With this in mind, I asked some of my favorite storytellers and cartoonists to tell their favorite NDN stories, presented here at SMITH Magazine. New installments appear every other Monday. Enjoy!”

As I’ve said before SmithMag seem to have an uncanny knack of picking out some excellent comics for their site, which alone is enough to make me bookmark NDN. Add in the fact that it has Dean Haspiel as the editor and talent like Jonathan Ames, Nick Bertozzi, John Cebollero, Joan Reilly, Kevin Colden and Ed Piskor and I think its something anyone who likes their comics will want to check out – and there’s more to come.
